Make the bookstore economics work before asking stores to say yes.
A book can be excellent and still present an unattractive or unsustainable retail equation. Stonebridge evaluates the publisher margin, retailer margin and returns exposure together, then documents workable choices.

Are my wholesale terms or return settings stopping bookstores from considering the book?

A low wholesale discount protects royalties but weakens the retailer proposition

View case study →What wholesale discount should I offer bookstores?
The answer depends on channel, list price, print cost and strategy. The audit shows how different terms affect both retailer margin and publisher compensation.
Do bookstores require returnability?
Policies vary. Returnability may reduce a retailer’s inventory risk, but it does not guarantee an order and can create cost for the publisher.
What happens when a book is returned?
Treatment depends on the distributor and selected return option. Costs can include the wholesale amount and handling or delivery charges, so exposure should be understood in advance.
Can raising the list price solve a low margin?
Sometimes, but it can also make the book less competitive. Price must be evaluated against format, category, perceived value and demand.
Is this the same as a bookstore submission service?
No. This audit focuses on commercial terms. Submission is a later service once the whole title is ready.
Will you tell me one exact setting to use?
Stonebridge provides a supported recommendation, but the publisher makes the risk decision. Where uncertainty matters, we show scenarios instead of pretending there is one universal setting.
