Provide a clear way to reach a person when the request is unusual, urgent, sensitive, or not covered by the system.
Calculate the full cost
The cost includes planning, development, integration, testing, security, staff training, maintenance, and outside software fees.
Compare that cost with time saved, errors reduced, opportunities captured, and capacity created.
Use three categories
A practical review can place processes into three groups: automate, assist, or keep human-led.
Automate work that is repetitive and rule-based. Use AI assistance where judgment still matters. Keep sensitive, unusual, or relationship-dependent decisions under direct human control.
Start with one valuable workflow
A focused first project gives the business evidence about adoption, reliability, and return before a larger automation program begins.
The goal is not to automate the largest number of tasks. It is to improve the processes that matter most.
