What is the difference between a staff-written editorial article, a contributed article, sponsored content, and a press release?
A staff-written editorial article is written by the publication's own writer or editorial team after the subject or angle has been approved. A contributed article is generally supplied by an outside author or expert and published under that structure. Sponsored content is paid content identified according to the outlet's format. A press release is company-issued news distributed through a release network. Stonebridge keeps these categories separate so a client knows exactly what type of coverage is being purchased.
Can I request a specific publication for an article feature?
Yes. If you request a specific publication, Stonebridge first submits the subject, angle, or query for approval. We do not take payment for a named staff-written editorial placement and then hope the outlet accepts it later. Once the publication or staff writer approves the subject and Stonebridge confirms the available opportunity, the project can be contracted. If the requested outlet does not approve the topic, we can either revise the direction or present another suitable approved option.
How does Stonebridge confirm whether my topic is acceptable to a publication before I pay for the placement?
Stonebridge uses a pre-approval process for staff-written editorial placements. We review your background and intended topic, prepare the query or angle, and submit it through the relevant publication or writer relationship. If the subject is approved and the opportunity can be reserved, Stonebridge then provides that specific platform to you as an available project. If it is not approved, we do not present that editorial placement as confirmed. This is one of the ways Stonebridge reduces avoidable placement failures.
Who writes the article when the placement is staff-written editorial coverage?
The article is written by the publication's staff writer or editorial team under the publication's own process. Stonebridge's role is to develop the angle, prepare the subject, organize facts and supporting material, coordinate the approved opportunity, and help the client respond accurately to the writer's requirements. The value of staff-written coverage is precisely that the final article is not simply a Stonebridge press release placed under another name.
Can I review factual information before the article is published?
Stonebridge coordinates factual review and supporting information as part of the editorial process where the publication allows it. The client can make sure names, dates, figures, titles, quotations, and other factual information provided to the writer are correct. Editorial control still belongs to the publication, so factual review is different from rewriting the article into promotional copy or demanding control of the writer's independent tone. Stonebridge manages that distinction with the client before publication.
What happens if the publication I want does not approve my topic?
Stonebridge does not force the project through or sell the platform as approved. We can review why the topic was not accepted, adjust the angle where appropriate, or submit a different query. If the publication remains unsuitable, Stonebridge can present another publication whose staff writer or editorial team has approved the subject. The client can then decide whether to proceed. The goal is to enter the paid project after the placement has a confirmed editorial route, not before.
