Should my website be custom-built or developed on an existing platform or CMS?
Stonebridge's current website development model is based on complete custom PHP-coded builds rather than routine WordPress template sites. The architecture, page system, conversion paths, forms, integrations, responsive behavior, and supporting infrastructure are developed around the project. Third-party services may still be integrated where appropriate, but the website itself is not delivered as a routine off-the-shelf WordPress build.
Can Stonebridge redesign or rebuild an existing website without starting everything from scratch?
Yes. Stonebridge can audit the existing site and preserve useful content, branding, URLs, assets, analytics, or functionality while replacing what is weak or outdated. In some cases, a focused redesign or technical cleanup is enough. In others, the underlying system is limiting the business and a rebuild makes more sense. Stonebridge reviews the current website before recommending that everything be replaced.
Can an existing website be moved to new hosting without losing content, search visibility, or important functionality?
Yes, but the migration needs to be planned properly. Stonebridge can handle hosting, DNS, SSL, domain connection, redirects, analytics, forms, and technical checks as part of the move. The objective is to preserve the important URLs and functionality while minimizing disruption. Search visibility is protected by maintaining the correct structure and redirects where changes are necessary rather than simply uploading a new site and hoping Google reconnects everything.
Who owns the website code, content, domain, and accounts after development?
Stonebridge's standard position is client ownership of the approved final work and client business assets. The development agreement defines the exact ownership of custom code, source files, domains, accounts, hosting, and third-party components. Licensed software, frameworks, reusable Stonebridge tools, or external services remain subject to their own terms. The client should have a clear written understanding of what can be accessed, transferred, and used after the project ends.
What security, backups, performance, and technical maintenance does the website require?
The requirements depend on how the site is built and what data it handles. Stonebridge can set up SSL, hosting, backups, updates, form delivery, DNS, analytics, technical documentation, and other infrastructure within the approved scope. A simple author site and a business application with user accounts do not carry the same risk. The maintenance plan is therefore based on the actual system rather than one generic checklist.
Can the website later be expanded with ecommerce, client portals, booking, AI, automation, or other custom features?
Yes. Stonebridge's technology structure is designed to connect websites with broader business systems. We can add booking, payments, subscriptions, dashboards, CRM workflows, AI assistants, client portals, analytics, lead routing, and API integrations where the project and platform support them. Stonebridge normally considers future expansion during the initial architecture so the website does not become a dead end as the company grows.
